I wanted to have some huevos rancheros for breakfast, so we came to Carrillo's restaurant. I'm a big fan of huevos rancheros, but I was a little disappointed because, instead of the eggs being covered with salsa, they were covered with melted cheese. Maybe they prepared this dish differently because they are from a different region in Mexico, but I didn't like it. So, I removed as much of the cheese as I could and added some red salsa. I think from now on, every time I go to a new Mexican restaurant, I will ask first how they prepare the huevos rancheros, since I like them with red sauce. The restaurant was clean, and the employees were nice.

Love the menudo best in town along with fresh tortillas. Like that we able to place our order over the phone and pick up real quick.

My family has been coming to Carrillo's for 30 years and it's been a true Simi Valley mainstay as far as I can remember. My Mom always loved getting the chili releno, cheese enchiladas and the Chicken Ensalda. As a result, she got me hooked as a child and even now as an adult it's always a blast to come here. Steve and the rest of the staff consistently provide wonderful service every time I've gone. Whether grabbing food to go or eating in, Carrillo's is a must visit for Mexican cuisine.
